Photo Submission Guidelines

  • For all pictures, the name of the SE-ARS member submitting the images must be included.

  • If you do not want us to use your name on the website to acknowledge the use of your pictures (ie. 'submitted by John  Doe'), please tell us this when you submit the pictures.

  • Pictures may be submitted to the SE-ARS Webmaster by e-mail, or more easily by the Photo Submission form to the left.  

  • All photographs submitted to SE-ARS are still the property of the photographer or other copyright holder.   SE-ARS is granted the right to use copies of the images on this website in any manner without compensation.

  • It is usually not necessary to reduce the image sizes before submitting to us, although files over 2000k will be slow to transmit.

  • Please include as much information about the photos as you can, on the Photo Information form.   When and where they were taken, names of plants, persons, buildings and locations that are visible in the images.  Technical information regarding camera, lens, etc. is optional, but may be of interest to photo enthusiasts.  

  • If you want the photos included in a particular gallery on the website, please specify.

  • Recent photos must be submitted by the photographer or by someone who has prior permission from the photographer to submit them, and must be the photographer's original work.

  • Portrayal of any member of ARS includes implied consent for publication on the website, unless otherwise directed by the member.    A photo release form may be required for other identifiable persons, particularly minor children (parental permission) or identifiable private property.  Click here for sample release form.

  • Historic photos may be submitted by anyone as long as there are no current copyrights on the photographs.

  • Photographs containing a photographer's watermark or other copyright may not be submitted.
