How to Hybridize Rhododendrons
We may produce new varieties of rhododendrons by hybridizing. This consists of crossing two individual plants which may have genes for desired traits, allowing the cross to mature to a seed pod, and sowing the resulting seeds to produce many seedlings, the best of which are grown on to flowering age, and selecting few of the plants for further evaluation (a long process).
