Why join SE-ARS?
Benefits of Membership
When you join SE-ARS you gain a full membership in the American Rhododendron Society (ARS), which in itself is an outstanding value. ARS is an international organization with annual conventions in various locations, giving an opportunity to visit many gardens featuring rhododendrons, nationally and worldwide, and to meet with the experts. A high quality quarterly Journal ARS is included. ARS members have access to the ARS Seed Exchange, to grow the latest in the rhododendron world and produce new, unique plants. The Chapter offers a newsletter, the Blue Ridge Review, every two months. Chapter programs, approximately five per year, give educational information on rhododendrons as well as companion plants, and the chance to meet with other enthusiasts, both beginning and veteran. An annual friendly competitive flower show is held during blooming season in late April, in Asheville, N.C. The companion plant programs are of interest not only to "rhodoholics", but to general gardeners who would like to know more about desirable plants for our area. Meetings include plant sales, only offered to members, of many plants otherwise not readily available, and at favorable cost.
