PICASA EXAMPLE

PictureOriginal TIFF file (raw converted to TIFF) was 92 Megabytes (92000k).
PICASA , the free photo editing program from Google, has a very simple procedure for downsizing: use the EXPORT function and set the size to 1400 pixels.   The color space, however, remains that of the camera (Adobe RGB, better color space for prints) and does not convert to sRGB (better for computer display).

You may click on the computer screenshots for larger views.

PictureClick on EXPORT, which brings up the above popup box. Set RESIZE to 1400 pixels, Automatic Image Quality, and click EXPORT in lower right of popup box..

PictureExported size is 1400 x 934 pixels, 346k., as a .jpeg image.

Final image is 1400 x 934 pixels, with file size of 346k  (0.346 Megabyte).
